Untangling Group Dynamics: An improv card game with Daniel Lindenberger

Using the Group Works pattern language, players get a chance to discuss and support one another through an intuitive and spontaneous game of cards.

About Daniel

Three key strands have woven through Daniel Lindenberger's life since childhood: Community, Technology, and Human Potential. Growing up in Vancouver during the 80s and 90s, Daniel was part of a vibrant youth culture of what would later be known as "Cultural Creatives," fostering a deep commitment to community based on meaningful connection.

Daniel's passion for community formation and function has led to significant roles, including serving on the boards of the Canadian Cohousing Association and the Group Pattern Language Project. As a founding member of Source Facilitation Collective, Daniel is trained in Consensus, Sociocracy, and Way of Council processes, bringing a wealth of experience in facilitation.

Technology has been a constant fascination since 1984 when his family acquired a Tandy 1000. This early exposure ignited a lifelong interest in how technology shapes society and vice versa. Currently, as Emerging Media Expert at UBC’s Digital Experience Lab, Daniel shares his passion for technology in education and the public good, with a particular focus on Large Language Models. He was also a key community builder at CoronaWhy, helping to design and define Unmanagement, which he co-presented at the 2020 GITMA Conference.

As cofounder of Thaumazo, he is now focused on leveraging these insights to bring people together around projects aimed at the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Starting in September, Daniel will embark on a 6 month 'Mycelial Adventure' exploring the Metacrisis and humanity’s potential paths through with an emergent methodology.

Come Run Savage - experimental workshop and collaborative art project with Lee White

Nature Adventures with Lee White

A local to the Comox Valley, Lee White will help facilitate hikes, river swims, mountain biking or paddle boarding adventures.

About Lee

Lee started skiing out of his backyard in the Yukon with his brothers at 5 years old. They still ski together whenever they can. Growing up largely in British Columbia the mountains were a constant inspiration for adventures and art. Lee’s love of words started early writing poetry and prose including the eclectic philosophy book rapt in awe published in 2004. Having worked for several years with Outward Bound in Canada and post-Apartheid South Africa, Lee continues to operate an Adventure Therapy Program for the youth jail in B.C. A deep love of nature inspires Lee in multiple art mediums reflected in the brand ethos of Poet Skis.

Aside from art and adventures, Lee is a social impact entrepreneur innovating novel approaches to clean energy transition and data sovereignty through ChinookX Technologies.

Lee is an Ashoka Fellow for his work leading ChinookX building next-gen solutions for data sovereignty and climate action, grounded in a deep respect for Indigenous ways of knowing and being. ChinookX partners with Indigenous communities to develop Indigenous Innovation Districts (IIDs) and StoryBox servers. These data centres, powered by clean energy, are built on Indigenous lands. IIDs provide the infrastructure for Indigenous data sovereignty, as well as a revenue stream by way of data storage and processing for broader communities. It’s a model that positions Indigenous peoples to flourish in the next iteration of the internet.
